Vita

The 7th Personale prize of the Vienna Women´s Film Festival is dedicated to the realm of costume design and will be awarded to Monika Buttinger. In the course of her carrier, Buttinger has been responsible for costume design of over fifty movies. She has received multiple awards and recognitions such as the Max Ophüls Prize in 2002 for “Vollgas”, in 2011 for “Tag und Nacht”(together with Veronika Albert) and in 2013 for “Talea” as well as the Costume Award at the Diagonale. In 2009 “Revanche” was nominate for an Academy Award for the best foreign film and in 2016 Buttinger was personally nominated for the Austrian Film Award for “Der Vampir auf der Couch”.

During the Vienna Women´s Film Festival we will screen selected films from the impressive Oeuvre of Monika Buttinger and together with colleagues, directors and co-operation partners provide insight into important aspects of film making such as design, aging process and storage of costumes.

Her latest works “L´Animale” by Katharian Mückstein and “Die Migrantigen” by Arman T. Riahi are already underway and are due for screenings in 2017.
